AZ Supreme Court Gives Kari Lake Huge Victory After She Exposes Signature Verification Issues

Arizona’s State Supreme Court on Wednesday accepted Lake’s argument that lower courts erred by dismissing her challenge to the signature verification process in the 2022 midterm election.

The Arizona gubernatorial candidate heralded the news on Wednesday.

“HUGE: AZ Supreme Court Rules In Favor of Kari Lake, Forces Lower Court to Look at Signature Verification Issues,” Lake said.

The justices accepted Lake’s contestation of the signature verification process; however, they ruled against Lake on six of seven other claims of voting irregularities. Chief Justice Robert Brutinel wrote in the ruling that the court will adjudicate Lake’s claim that Maricopa County failed to comply with Arizona law on ballot tabulation.

Lake is being compelled to show that “votes [were] affected ‘in sufficient numbers to alter the outcome of the election’” based on a “competent mathematical basis to conclude that the outcome would plausibly have been different, not simply an untethered assertion of uncertainty.”

Lake trails former Secretary of State Katie Hobbs by 17,000 votes. Hobbs has since been sworn in and has acted as governor since early January.

On Wednesday, Lake took to Twitter to hold up vindication that there is court-adjudicated merit to her contentions about the election. She also noted that her critics wanted to see her criminally charged for contesting the midterm election results.

“They want to ARREST me for exposing fraud in the 2022 Election,” Lake. “Now, the AZ Supreme Court has ruled that the very fraud I highlighted has to be looked at. This is big, folks. Hit me with your best shot. I will never, ever back down. Try me.”

Lake’s name is being floated as a possible running mate for Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, as well as for Arizona’s 2024 Senate race against independent Senator Kyrsten Sinema.

On Tuesday, Lake argued that “we need to open more eyes and wake more people up to what’s happening.”

“This fight is so much bigger than just one election,” she said. “It’s a battle to end corruption and restore our God-given rights. It certainly hasn’t been an easy one. But the most rewarding struggles never are.”
