Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour, 30, from Sayreville, New Jersey was shot and killed in her car on Wednesday night. Police believe she was the intended target of the shooting, but no clear motive has been found yet. Dwumfour was elected to the council in 2022 as a Republic an and was also a business analyst and part-time EMT. Governor Phil Murphy expressed shock at the incident and sent condolences to Dwumfour’s family, friends and the community. Sayreville Police and Middlesex County officials are investigating the case, but no arrests have been made yet.
