Chris Cuomo’s Boss Scolds Him Live On Air For Saying He’s ‘Open’ To Voting For Trump

An awkward moment unfolded on News Nation when network host Dan Abrams scolded Chris Cuomo for saying he was “open” to voting for former President Donald Trump in 2024.

The longtime Trump critic’s shocking comments came during his recent appearance on the Patrick Bet-David podcast.

“Would we survive another [term]… uh, yes,” Cuomo said in reference to President Trump. “I don’t think there’s any greater risk to America with him than with Biden. And for people who are now going to attack me and say, what are you talking about, Trump is like this crazy man. Well, look, as Patrick says, the data’s the data. Nobody was trying to kill us when Trump was president in a way that they are now. If anything, there’s more hostility.”

While speaking with Abramson Thursday evening, Cuomo appeared to backtrack, stating that his comments were taken “wildly out of context.”

“Your point was that you were critical of Donald Trump in other parts of the interview. But you were asked a very specific question, which is, so you’re open to a Trump vote? And your response was, ‘I’m always open,’” Abrams lectured. “And then you went further than that. You even said, and I’ll tell you this, people say you’ve never voted for a Republican in your life. ‘Wrong. Not only have I the first vote I ever casted for Republican.’ Your point was that you’re open. Was it not?”

“The point is that everybody should be open because again, context, Patrick was making the point that the data makes it an open, closed, shut case. Can’t vote for Biden,” Cuomo replied.

The ex-CNN host conceded that Trump performed well when evaluating several metrics and claimed that he was trying to refute Bet-David, who stated that there is no way he could ever vote for Biden. Cuomo also accused the former president of “weaponizing” him and going after his family.

“I said look, it’s not my place to tell people who to vote for. I do not believe in the argument that you can’t vote for Trump because America will end, I don’t believe in the argument that you can’t vote for Biden.”
