Kevin McCarthy Directs House Committees To Investigate Partisan Witch Hunt Against Trump

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has come to the defense of Donald Trump amid reports of a potential indictment by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. McCarthy slammed Bragg, who is likely to use his power to pursue a politically motivated prosecution of former President Donald Trump.

In a tweet posted on his official Twitter account, McCarthy wrote: “Here we go again – an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against President Trump.”

McCarthy has called for an investigation to determine whether federal funds are being utilized to carry out politically motivated prosecutions that interfere with elections

“I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions,” McCarthy said.

The case has flashy political appeal, since we know the Left will try to do anything to drag GOP members through the mud. Bragg appears to be weak from a legal standpoint and is facing difficulties in using state laws to prosecute a federal case that was already dismissed by the Justice Department years ago.

Former President Donald Trump acknowledged the reports and suggested he might be arrested on Tuesday, in a Truth Social post. Trump attacked the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, accusing them of making “illegal leaks” and being “corrupt” and “highly political”.

The post followed a report by Fox News stating that the Manhattan DA’s office had requested a meeting with law enforcement to discuss logistics for a potential Trump indictment, which could result in a felony charge.

This all comes after Fox News released a bombshell report on Friday:

“We are learning that the Manhattan DA’s office has asked for a meeting with law enforcement ahead of a potential Trump indictment. This is coming to Fox News from a source in the courts. The meeting, which was requested yesterday and has not been set yet, is to discuss logistics for some time next week, which would mean that they are anticipating an indictment next week. The same source familiar with the planning said they will go over security preparations in and around the courthouse in lower Manhattan. Secret service will take the lead in what they will allow or will not allow.”

Meanwhile, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has suggested that Trump will win the 2024 election in a “landslide” if he embraces cryptocurrency.
