You won’t believe this story about a Texas school! A parent from KIPP Poder Academy was shocked when she found out her daughter’s class played a game that involved pretending to be “hookers.” Can you imagine?! The game called “bear hooker hunter” is similar to rock, paper, scissors, but instead of rocks and paper, it involves hunters and hookers! The students are supposed to pretend to seduce each other while pointing a gun. How inappropriate for 13-year-olds!
Laura Gruber, the parent, was outraged and took her daughter out of KIPP Poder Academy within a week. And get this, it took nearly six months for the school to send a letter to parents confirming the inappropriate game was played. The school’s letter said they never meant to sexualize the children, but come on, what were they thinking?

KIPP Poder’s response is not good enough! Laura Gruber said that if the teacher doesn’t have the filter for something like this, she doesn’t belong in a school period.
KIPP Texas Public Schools said they take full responsibility for the incident and will provide additional training for teachers to ensure nothing like this happens again.
