Sir Rod Stewart has recalled the terrifying moment he thought his young son was having a heart attack.
The pop crooner, 77, rushed his son Aiden, 11, to hospital recently after he collapsed during a football match.
Aiden is Sir Rod’s youngest child with wife Penny Lancaster and the couple also share son Alastair, 16.
The concerning incident happened when Aiden was playing a match for his under-12s team Young Hoops, however, it’s not known exactly when it happened.
Sir Rod said: ‘We thought my boy had a heart attack.’
Speaking to FourFourTwo magazine, the singer continued: ‘He was going blue and was unconscious until he calmed down. It was scary, but it turned out to be a panic attack. The lad wanted to do well, pulled on the Hoops in Scotland for his dad.
‘Another boy fell backwards and banged his head – he’s still not back. In all of my days watching football, that’s the only time two ambulances had been called.’
Aiden isn’t the only one of Sir Rod’s children to suffer a medical emergency recently, as his older son Sean was rushed to hospital after being hit by a truck in October.
Sean, 42, was driving to a meeting when the large vehicle slammed into him. He was taken to Cedars Sinai hospital and had an MRI, which showed he suffered a dislocated shoulder and other injuries…. (Read more)
