Japanese automaker Toyota’s Political Action Committee (PAC) on the 8th of July, announced it will quits its policy of giving monetary donations to U.S. lawmakers who opposed the certification of the results of the 2020 presidential election, after the anti-Trump PAC, the Lincoln Project ran an ad blasting the company for still donating to those Republican lawmakers.

“In fact, in 2021, the vast majority of the contributions went to Democrats and Republicans who supported the certification of the 2020 election. We understand that the PAC decision to support select Members of Congress who contested the results troubled some stakeholders,” the Toyota PAC stated in an emailed statement.

“We are actively listening to our stakeholders and, at this time, we have decided to stop contributing to those Members of Congress who contested the certification of certain states in the 2020 election.”

The Members of Congress that Toyota PAC is pointing at, are about a dozen GOP senators and dozens of House representatives who opposed to the results of the Nov. 3, 2020, elections. Within the codified terms of the constitution, the objection process is lawful and similar objections have been made by Democratic lawmakers in recent presidential elections.

When asked if the company was concerned about pushback from Trump supporters, Toyota said it had no further comment.

The anti-Trump PAC, the Lincoln Project, started out an ad on Thursday against Toyota for donating to Republicans who they say are in tune with the allegedly anti-democratic movement that breached the Capitol building on Jan. 6 in process of the joint session of Congress while 2020 election was being certified.

“America’s free-market democratic system has been good for companies like Toyota for a long time, so why would Toyota support politicians who tried to overthrow the very system that’s been so profitable for them. … Toyota’s given more money than any company to the seditious politicians who voted to overturn the 2020 election results,” said the narrator in the ad which was being funded by the Lincoln Project.

“Toyota’s number one at finding ways to financially reward the very party that took our nation to the brink on January 6 helping finance a movement that violently sought to take votes away from American customers, not to mention Toyota’s own employees, and it’s time to call Toyota’s corporate leadership. If they don’t reconsider where they send their money, Americans will reconsider where we send ours,” the narrator added.

The commercial followed a June reportby Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington that revealed Toyota had given a total of $56,000 since Jan. 6 to those GOP members.

The Law Biden Administration Is Using To Try Suppress Election Audit

Published

on

On Wednesday, Department of Justice officials notified states that they’re keeping close tracks of the 2020 election audit taking place in Arizona and several other states.

The new guidance document contains the Biden administration’s stance on federal law concerning audits, tagging the round of reviews either done, being done, or proposed “unusual” and “exceedingly rare” while emphasizing  that federal law imposes constraints under which counties and states must comply with.

The laws include the Civil Rights Act of 1960 and it mandates the retention of election records for 22 months after a federal election.

It also includes Voting Rights Act of 1965, which outlines that no person “shall intimidate, threaten, or coerce, or attempt to intimidate, threaten, or coerce any person for voting or attempting to vote, or intimidate, threaten, or coerce, or attempt to intimidate, threaten, or coerce any person for urging or aiding any person to vote or attempt to vote.”

The first makes it the obligation of election officials to keep the security and integrity of the records and safeguard their chain of custody, “so that a complete and uncompromised record of federal elections can be reliably accessed and used in federal law enforcement matters,” the document posited.

“Where election records leave the control of elections officials, the systems for maintaining the security, integrity, and chain of custody of those records can easily be broken. Moreover, where elections records are no longer under the control of elections officials, this can lead to a significant risk of the records being lost, stolen, altered, compromised, or destroyed. This risk is exacerbated if the election records are given to private actors who have neither experience nor expertise in handling such records and who are unfamiliar with the obligations imposed by federal law,” it adds. And this is in a clear reference to the audit being done in Maricopa County, Arizona where the Florida-based Cyber Ninjas, which has no election audit experience has been tapped.

Violators of the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act face fines of up to $1,000 and a jail sentence of up to a year for each violation.

“This document sets down a marker that says the Justice Department is concerned about this and we will be following this closely,” the official added.

Biden, Don Lemon bashed for their performances at CNN town hall event: ‘Uncomfortable to watch’

Published

on

From the size of the crowd to the moderator Don Lemon’s performance the CNN’s well advertised town hall event with President Biden, was bashed.

Jennifer Epstein,  Bloomberg News reporter kicked off by pointing out the very few persons in attendance.

Mark Simone,  radio host also noted, “CNN was very careful to not show that no one showed up for the Biden Town Hall and that most of the room was empty,” .

While Bongino Report tagged the event  a “train wreck,”, the president of Media Research Center Brent Bozell described it “garbage.”

Jack Butler, National Review editor  bashed the “contrived” CNN event that he feels is a completely different far cry from the previous successful town hall events, positing  that the format should be abolished, he tagged it a “hideous spectacle unbecoming of a self-governing republic” that continues to get worse.

“If CNN had any shame or respect for the citizens of a self-governing republic, the network would never air one of these idiotic events again,” Butler added. “But don’t expect that to happen anytime soon.”

NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck pointed out that while eight Democrats were allowed to ask questions, only three Republicans were allowed.

Tom Elliott, Grabien Media founder  sarcastically said Biden was “crushing it” sharing a viral video of the president struggling to give answer to a question. The clip piled up over 2.2 million views and generated a long list of back lash. Some viewers were irked that Lemon didn’t point out Biden’s struggles, while others just felt the whole event was painful to watch.

During the event, Lemon also called on to Biden as “the big guy”.
“You’ve been the big guy for six months now in the White House. Can you take us behind the scenes, something that was extraordinary or unusual that happened that stands out to you?” Lemon asked.

“The big guy” was a word notably used with respect to Biden in a leaked email thread allegedly involving Joe’s son Hunter Biden making a deal with a Chinese energy firm
Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y. pointed out on this connection as well, tweeting “Wow. Even Don Lemon knows Joe Biden is the “Big Guy”! #HuntersEmails.”
