Trans woman arrested for attempted murder in Vermont

BURLINGTON, Vt.—A transgender convicted felon with a long history of violence was arrested over a shooting in Burlington, Vt.  

On Sunday, Tovi Rose Mesick, 40, of Cambridge, Vt., allegedly tried to kill a man by shooting him in the chest in an apartment building. Mesick allegedly fled the scene and was found by a canine unit several miles away in Winooski, Vt. Meswick has been charged with attempted murder. Mesick was previously known as Christopher Michael Mesick before transitioning sometime in the last two years. Mesick also has a long violent criminal history.
