The super PAC is chaired by Ken Cuccinelli, a former Virginia attorney general and the 2013 GOP gubernatorial nominee who later served as acting deputy homeland security director during the last two years of the Trump administration. Cuccinelli has been busy meeting with prominent conservative leaders in early voting states to prepare for DeSantis’ potential presidential bid.
The governor has been traveling to early voting states like Iowa, Nevada, and New Hampshire to promote his “Florida blueprint” and his new book, “The Courage to Be Free.”
The Never Back Down PAC will be headquartered in Atlanta and is expected to have a heavy presence in early voting states. Super PACs like this are legally allowed to raise unlimited sums of money to support or oppose political candidates. Other pro-DeSantis super PACs, like “Ready for Ron” and “Ron to the Rescue,” are currently up and running, but sources close to DeSantis have labeled them as “a grift – plain and simple.”
DeSantis’ current travel itinerary, which includes trips to the early voting states, is fueling more speculation about a potential presidential run. Some believe a campaign launch may come in late spring or early summer, after the current legislative session. But with Never Back Down PAC and the addition of Jeff Roe to the team, it seems obvious that DeSantis is gearing up for a serious presidential run. Stay tuned!
