On Monday, a Christian private school in Nashville experienced a mass shooting, resulting in the death of six individuals. The shooter, identified as Audrey Elizabeth Hale, was a 28-year-old transgender and a former student.
New details have emerged about Hale, how she got the guns, and her mental health.
Lindsay Watts of ABC, reported, “Nashville Chief says Audrey Hale bought 7 guns from 5 gun stores legally. Says Hale was under doctor’s care for an emotional disorder. Says parents believed she had sold the only gun she owned, but unbeknownst to them there were others.”
“Chief says the school was targeted, but no evidence the specific victims were targeted,” Watts tweeted.
Her mental health was a concern after chilling messages were released Tuesday morning in an exchange between Hale and a friend. Hale’s friend, Averianna Patton, received messages Monday morning from Hale saying that she no longer wanted to live, and that she would be on the news later that day.

On Tuesday a set of bone-chilling direct messages from Hale to a friend just prior to the senseless shooting was released.
“You’ll probably hear about me on the news after I die … This is my last goodbye,” the transgender killer wrote to Patton.
“One day this will make more sense. I’ve left more than enough evidence behind,” Hale continued, before ominously saying, “But something bad is about to happen.”

“I tried to comfort and encourage her and subsequently reached out to the Suicide Prevention Help Line after being instructed to by my father at 10:08 am. Audrey has shared with others that she had been suicidal in the past and I knew to take this serious,” Patton told NewsChannel 5 after the shooting occurred.
Patton was a former basketball teammate and classmate of Hale’s from middle school.
Police have said Hale had a manifesto, but other than stating that the attack was targeted, little else has been revealed regarding the details of that manifesto. Police also released stunning footage of Hale inside The Covenant School, gun drawn, wearing camo pants and some sort of tactical vest.
