Breaking: ‘Potentially thousands’ of duplicated ballots without serial numbers- Arizona Audit Report

Published

on

“The state Senate’s audit of Maricopa County’s 2020 election results revealed “potentially thousands” of missing serial numbers on ballot copies that had been duplicated from originals that are already damaged.”, state official in Arizona said Thursday.

Senate Liaison Ken Bennett, in the state Senate hearing on Thursday,  described the process by which election workers duplicate a ballot: “If a ballot gets damaged and has to be sent to duplication, there is a very specific process in the [state] elections procedure manual. That process involves applying matching serial numbers to both original and duplicated ballots.”

“We found, I would have to say, thousands of duplicate ballots where those serial numbers are not on them,” he said. “And so it has created great difficulty to try to match up a duplicated ballot to its duplicate.”
Bennett posited that many serial numbers on the ballots were applied with a “dot-matrix printer” atop border lines around the ballot, a mixup which “made for some very tedious matching of duplicated ballots and their duplicates.”

“One of the most important things you need to do when you duplicate ballots is reflect the serial number on [the two ballots] so that you can do two main things,” he said. “One, make sure you have one for every one of the other and two, make sure that you can look at the votes reflected on the duplicated ballot to make sure they reflected those correctly from the ballot that was damaged and was duplicated.”

State Senate President Karen Fann asked Bennet during his testimony: “If the corresponding numbers aren’t on there, how would you know whether it was duplicated once or ten times?”

Bennett, responding said,”You wouldn’t.”

The Maricopa audit ongoing is expected to be carried for a few more weeks.

Trump Organization CFO resigns from the trust that controls the company: documents show

Published

on

Allen Weisselberg, Trump Organization executive has resigned from a trust set up to control all of the company’s assets — clearly giving up his place at the top of the company’s formal hierarchy — according to government filings obtained by The Washington Post.

In a document filed with regulators in New Jersey, the Trump Organization said that Weisselberg was no longer a trustee of the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust. The trust took in all his companies and investments when Trump took office in 2017. In effect, Trump’s lawyers said, the trust owned the Trump Organization.
Until this month, the trust had two trustees: Allen Weisselberg, Trump’s longtime chief financial officer, and Donald Trump Jr. Eric Trump, the former president’s adult son, who was the chairman of the trust’s advisory board.
But last week, the company told New Jersey there was now just one trustee.

But his resignation from the trust is the most significant sign yet that Weisselberg is giving up his formal power at a company where he has worked since the 1970s. According to the paper, at least he has left the Trump Organization — now struggling with political backlash, the covid-19 pandemic, and the indictments of two Trump subsidiaries alongside Weisselberg

— with Trump’s two adult sons.
“Effective immediately, I, Allen Weisselberg, resign from each and every office and position that I hold” in the subsidiaries, in a letter dated June 25, Weisselberg wrote. The letter was also delivered to New Jersey authorities, who released it to The Washington Post.
What followed was a two-page list. The list received by The Post was redacted to a large extent so that only a few company names were visible. However, according to other corporate records in the United States and Scotland, The Post has noticed at least 59 Trump entities where Weisselberg has recently resigned from his positions.
